Before You Bring It In

What We Inspect First

We know our stuff. Every garment is inspected before cleaning: its fabric, construction, care label and marks. A few notes from you make that inspection quicker and more precise, especially for anything spilled on the piece or treated at home.

Point out each mark, even a faint one, and note what caused it if you know.
Note any spotting product, water or other treatment already used at home.
Note any change in fit, colour or texture you noticed before this visit.

Is wet cleaning the same as a home wash?

No. Not to be confused with laundry, wet cleaning is not laundry. A specially formulated detergent and finishing agent are used, with low levels of water and very little mechanical action, each step set for the garment in hand. Keep tailored pieces out of a home machine, and bring any piece with its care label: we select the process that suits it.

How do I flag a mark on a pickup order?

Add it to your request notes or pin a note to the garment, marking where the concern is. A photo helps show the area, but the garment itself decides the treatment once it reaches our shop.

What Wet Cleaning Involves

You never question your use of water; you drink it, wash with it and prepare your meals with it. Nothing is more natural. Professional wet cleaning combines water with carefully controlled mechanical action, specialized detergents and finishing agents. According to Toronto Environmental Alliance, Glenforest was the first Toronto cleaner to switch 100% to wet cleaning. Cleaning and Finishing Belong Together

Cleaning is one part of caring for your clothes. Specialized finishing equipment forms and finishes each garment, with care to avoid shine and impressions. For suit cleaning, the jacket is wet cleaned, then finished on a form, with attention to the shoulders, lapels and drape: a fine garment finish for your blazer.

Note marks or home treatments at drop-off or in your pickup notes. Delicate and unfamiliar fabrics are assessed individually and given the process that suits them.
