A collar meets skin, sweat, hair products and makeup whenever a shirt is worn. The result is the familiar ring around the collar, with matching lines at the cuffs. These marks build up wear after wear, so treat the collar and cuffs with a collar stain remover before the shirt is washed.
In Our Shirt Room
Every shirt is sorted by colour, style and material before cleaning, and marks at the collar, cuffs and front are pointed out at the counter or noted on a pickup order. Shirts in the Executive Shirt Service are finished on a blown unit, then the collar and cuffs are finished by hand on the reverse side to protect colour and style.
Using a Collar Stain Remover at Home
- Test the Reserve stain remover spray on a hidden seam first, such as the inside of a side seam.
- Spray the inside of the collar and the cuffs where the line has formed.
- Work it in gently along the line with the soft spotting brush or the spotting bone.
- Machine wash the shirt following its care label, and check the collar before drying.
For a weekly routine, the Reserve Starter Kit has the spray, the 32 oz refill, the spotting bone and the soft brush in one set.
